Hollywood Hosts “Public Enemy” Author

Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn Talk About Their Lives As American Dissidents

IMG_0025As the famous documentary states, “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised,” but it was videotaped for the world to watch on youtube, right from Skylight Books in Hollywood.  It was an exciting night at Skylight to host two of the most known radicals and anti-war activists in the world, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.  They were in town to promote, sign, and talk about Bill’s new book “Public Enemy.”

Their names were in the news in the 1960’s  as leaders of the Students for a Democratic Society and famous for their connections to the Weather Underground.  Their years on the run from law enforcement for their anti-war activities made them legendary figures.  Ayres wrote a previous book “Fugitive Days” describing his years underground.

A large crowd greeted Ayers and Dohrn at Skylight Books on Thursday, October 10th, eager to see and meet these two living legends.  Ayers read some passages from his new book, talked about his years underground, raising his children, and told of his experiences during the presidential campaign that linked him as a close associate of Barack Obama.  Both Ayres and Dohrn spoke to a lively audience and took questions on far ranging subjects.  You can view the entire event by clicking on the window below.
